SPECIAL FEATURES: How to Spend a Day in QC

The former capital of the Philippines is now the current hot spot for entertainment, shopping, art, and nightlife in the Metro! Whether a seasoned local or a visiting tourist, you’ll want to add the bustling city to your Manila itinerary. Here are our recommendations for a day spent in Quezon City.

9:00a.m. Pi Breakfast & Pies

Waking up is much easier when you know a dreamy breakfast is in your near future. Stop by Pi Breakfast & Pies for your breakfast favourites, from eggs benedict to chicken and waffles to Filipino style dishes like the caramelised spam. And despite the early hour, don’t skimp on dessert: the pies here are game-changing.

10:30 a.m. Art in Island

Grow a pair of wings, traverse the globe on the back of one of Santa’s reindeers, or enter a mythical fantasy land at Art in Island, an interactive museum where visitors can take photos within 3D murals. This place takes Instagrammable to a whole new level.

12:45 p.m. Lola Cafe

There’s some truth in the phrase ‘shopping is cardio’ because somehow it always leaves us hungry. That’s where Lola Cafe comes in to save the day with their homestyle Filipino dishes. Go for the sweet-and-spicy bone marrow sisig and kare-kare, finishing off with the banoffee pie for dessert!

2:00 p.m. La Mesa Eco Park

Walk off your meal in the city’s epicentre of green, La Mesa Eco Park. Here, find everything from horseback riding to fishing to biking—not to mention the park is teeming with walking paths and flower gardens.

4:00 p.m. Sip and Gogh

Channel your inner artist at Sip and Gogh, as an instructor leads you through a painting class while filling your wine glass at the same time! Creative juices are bound to flow—as will the vino.

6:30 p.m. Streat Maginhawa Food Park

Why settle on one type of cuisine for dinner when you can sample the entire globe? The Philippine’s first food park combines everything from American-style hot dogs to Mexican nachos to

8:00 p.m. Cubao Expo

A hub for cool bars, cheap eats, and hip boutiques, the Cubao X is the gateway to underground Manila. Listen to rock music beer-in-hand or play games while sipping Jack and coke. Not imbibing? No problem. The haven of art and culture is teeming with music stores, art galleries, and vintage shops.   Need a place to stay when exploring the dynamic neighbourhood?
